Hatching egg sales policy

The terms every hatching egg sale happens under. Short, plain language, no surprises. If you have a question, ask before you buy — not after.

Payment

Hatching eggs are paid in full at pickup. We do not take payment through the website and we do not hold eggs without payment arrangements made in advance.

Freshness & handling

Every hatching egg leaves the farm less than 7 days from lay, collected daily, stored point-down at cool room temperature, never washed. We will tell you the exact lay dates on your eggs at pickup.

No hatch-rate guarantee

We do not guarantee fertility or hatch rates on hatching eggs. Fertility in our pens is verified — we hatch from the same pens we sell from — but incubation variables (temperature swings, humidity, turning, handling, your incubator's mood) are out of our control once the eggs leave the farm. If you are new to incubating, tell us — we'll talk you through it, but the risk is yours.

No vent sexing

We do NOT vent sex chickens. Chicks from our hatching eggs grow out unsexed. Roughly half will be roosters — have a plan for them before you set eggs.

Pickup only — no shipping

All egg sales are pickup only, at the farm, by appointment. We do not ship hatching eggs — shipped eggs have notoriously poor hatch rates no matter how carefully they're packed, and we'd rather tell you no than sell you eggs that won't hatch. Bring a clean egg flat or carton; we'll pack them for the drive.

Refunds

Once eggs leave the farm, the sale is final. If we have to cancel a sale for any reason — a hen goes broody, a pen stops laying — any payment already made is returned in full.

Right of refusal

We reserve the right to refuse any sale, to anyone, for any reason, at any point before money changes hands.

Communication & support

We answer questions after the sale — incubation, candling, hatch problems, anything. We'd rather get a text at 9pm than hear a month later that something went wrong that we could have prevented. Contact information is on the contact page.
